FTC Chair Extending Focus Beyond Antitrust, Competition to Privacy


Lina Khan is about to begin her second year in office as U.S. Federal Trade Commission chair and her focus will likely extend beyond antitrust and competition issues, Protocol reports. Khan said she is looking at behavioral advertising, which “creates a certain set of incentives that are not always aligned with people’s privacy protections,” limiting certain types of data collection and banning on discriminatory data use.
