The State of Data Privacy In The U.S.


The United States is unique in its current state of data privacy legislation. There are multiple state-level data privacy regulations that have been implemented, but unlike the EU’s GDPR, there has been no overarching legislation passed by the federal government. This lack of federal privacy oversight has caused a rather complex and confusing legal landscape for data privacy compliance. Over the next year, this landscape will become even more complex.
