This incident, while causing millions of dollars in lost revenue among other intangibles, such as losses in reputation, did come with an upside. Organizations can now clearly see how their procurement processes can significantly impact their ability to operate in the future. Without a robust business continuity plan, organizations were paralyzed until CrowdStrike could solve the issue. Organizations must be sure to properly investigate the risks associated with the technologies they use and the vendors from which they procure these products.
